2008 DUCK SEASON OPENS

We started the 2008 duck season this weekend. In attendance were Josh Gibbs, Jimmy Moore, Lee Osborne, and Rusty Almond. Opening day we hunted the west moist soil unit. The ducks seemed to have moved to the east moist soil unit, so we moved. We found a pit at the NE corner of the "teal pond" and pumped it out. We were able to hunt the pit on day 2 of the opening weekend. We were very successful with the teal, as well as mallards and gadwalls. Rowdy, my new dog, did very well and made some incredible retrieves for a dog just beginning his 2nd year. He really turned on today, and I am very proud of him. We try a new location tomorrow...
